About Us PURAC's involvement with lactic acid began in 1935 with the industrial production of lactic acid. Since then, we have grown strongly; new production facilities were added and sales offices were opened to be closer to our customers. Nowadays, we are the world's largest and most experienced producer of lactic acid and lactates and a leading supplier of gluconic acid and gluconates.

PURAC is based in Gorinchem, Holland, where we have large facilities for product development, microbiological and chemical testing of most food groups. Our production facilities are located in Brazil, the Netherlands, Spain, USA and Thailand. Our production sites work in accordance with ISO, HACCP, GMP Food and GMP Pharma standards.

PURAC products can be included in meat and poultry products, nutritional foods, beverages, dressings, deli salads, pickled vegetables, confectionery, sugar-free products, dairy, tofu and baked goods.
