Membership Categories and Rates
MANUFACTURER MEMBERSHIP
If you are an industrial manufacturer of sandwiches, this is for you.
Audit Requirements
Before being accepted into membership, all manufacturers are visited by a specialist auditor from the Association. Membership is dependent upon achieving a satisfactory standard in this audit.
Membership Cost
Initial audit fee - £650 +VAT
Annual membership thereafter - £1000 +VAT plus £100 per 10,000 sandwiches produced per week up to a maximum annual fee of £2000 +VAT (inclusive of an annual audit)
SUPPLIER MEMBERSHIP
If you supply sandwich making equipment, ingredients or products to accompany sandwiches, such as drinks or confectionery, supplier membership applies to you.
Audit Requirements
An audit is required unless you hold a current BRC or EFSIS certificate. If you supply high risk ingredients, such as ready made sandwich filling mixes, we will want to audit your factory. If you are a lower category risk supplier, and can provide acceptable independent audit evidence, this may be waived.
Membership Cost
£1075 +VAT per annum including enrolment. Audit fee (if required) £650 +VAT
CONSULTANCY MEMBERSHIP
The fee of £750 +VAT for the year will include all the normal benefits of supplier membership including:
- A listing in the back of International Sandwich & Snack News under consultants, including a full name and address entry as per suppliers.
- A similar listing on the BSA trade web site with link to your own web pages.
- A listing on the BSA supplier cd when it is next produced (unfortunately we have just produced one)
- The support of the BSA by recommendation when it is approached for consultancy help.
You will also receive all the current information that comes from being a member, including e-bulletins
AFFILIATED MEMBERSHIP
This form of membership is for non-commercial organisations such as marketing boards and specialist information services. There is no audit requirement and a fixed membership cost of £875 + VAT per annum.
RETAILER MEMBERSHIP
This category of membership is for those who operate businesses involved in retailing sandwiches (including sandwich bars, catering organisations, bakeries and retailers of packaged sandwiches).
Audit requirements depend on the type of membership you are seeking.
Retail Membership Cost
£35 +VAT per annum for one shop plus £35 +VAT per additional shop up to a maximum of £2000 +VAT per annum.
Audit Requirements
Applicants are asked to complete a questionnaire over the telephone.
Gold Retal Membership
Gold Membership can be achieved only by passing a full BSA audit.
Audit Requirements
If you make sandwiches, one of our auditors will visit your premises. If you have more than more than one retail outlet, we will audit a random selection of sites. No audit is required where retailers buy in packaged sandwiches exclusively from manufacturers approved by the Association.
Audit Fee: £650 +VAT (plus travel costs if greater than £150)
SOLOIST MEMBERSHIP
Membership Cost
£35 + VAT
Soloist Gold Membership
Gold Membership can be achieved only by passing a full BSA audit.
Audit Requirements
If you make sandwiches, one of our auditors will visit your premises. If you have more than more than one retail outlet, we will audit a random selection of sites. No audit is required where retailers buy in packaged sandwiches exclusively from manufacturers approved by the Association.
Audit Fee: £650 +VAT (plus travel costs if greater than £150)
